FAIR USE POLICY

Last updated on 4 August 2026

SignFree SRL ("we", "us" or "SignFree") provides a free and easy-to-use e-signature service for solo entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small businesses. This Fair Use Policy explains the acceptable use of our platform and the measures we take to prevent scams, phishing, fraud, and other abuse.

1. Purpose

SignFree is designed for legitimate document signing workflows such as client proposals, contracts, non-disclosure agreements, invoices, and employment paperwork. We want to keep the platform safe, reliable, and free of misuse that could harm recipients or damage trust in electronic signatures.

This Fair Use Policy is part of our Terms and Conditions. By using SignFree, you agree to comply with it.

2. What We Consider Fair Use

Fair use means using SignFree in a way that is honest, proportionate, and consistent with normal business or personal signing activity. Examples include:

  • sending a contract, proposal, or NDA to a client, employee, or business partner who expects to receive it;
  • collecting one or a few signatures on a document you have the right to share;
  • using templates and reusable documents for your own business or personal workflow;
  • complying with applicable laws and respecting the rights of the people you ask to sign.

Free use is intended for light, regular signing activity. If you need higher volumes, advanced features, or team access, please consider one of our paid plans.

3. Prohibited Use

You may not use SignFree to:

  • trick, deceive, or scam people into signing documents or sharing personal information (phishing, social engineering, impersonation, advance-fee fraud, or similar schemes);
  • forge signatures, alter documents without authorization, or misrepresent the identity of a signer or sender;
  • send unsolicited, repetitive, or bulk signing requests to people who have not agreed to receive them;
  • upload, request signatures on, or distribute illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, harmful, or infringing content;
  • use the platform for any activity that violates applicable laws, including consumer protection, data protection, anti-spam, or financial regulations;
  • circumvent technical limits, abuse free features, or use automated scripts or bots to send documents or create accounts.

Any use that we reasonably believe is deceptive, abusive, or harmful may result in immediate suspension, account termination, deletion of related documents, and reporting to the appropriate authorities or service providers.

4. Usage Limits

To keep the service free, fair, and available for everyone, we apply reasonable usage limits. These limits are designed to cover normal solo entrepreneur and small business use while preventing abuse and spam.

Unless otherwise displayed in your account or communicated to you, the following default limits apply:

  • Free Plan: up to 20 signed documents per day and a limited number of signing emails per day.
  • Trial Plan: up to 20 signed documents per day and a limited number of signing emails per day.
  • Paid Plans: higher limits according to the selected plan, displayed in your account settings.

Limits may be adjusted based on system capacity, abuse patterns, or plan changes. We will notify you if a limit materially affects your account.

5. Detection and Enforcement

We use a combination of automated checks, usage limits, and human review to detect suspicious activity. We may look at factors such as send volume, recipient complaints, document content flags, identity verification results, device fingerprinting, and spam reports.

If we detect misuse or a potential scam, we may:

  • suspend or terminate the offending account or device without prior notice;
  • block or quarantine related documents and signing links;
  • report the activity to law enforcement, regulators, or anti-fraud organizations;
  • share relevant information with email providers, hosting providers, or payment processors to stop abuse.

Our decisions are made in good faith to protect users and the integrity of the platform. We are not liable for any action we take in accordance with this policy.

6. Report Abuse or Suspicious Activity

If you received an unexpected or suspicious signing request from SignFree, or if you believe someone is using SignFree for fraud, please report it to us:

Email: abuse@signfree.io
General contact: info@signfree.io

Please include the sender email address, the document name, the signing link (if available), and a brief description of why you believe the request is abusive. We review reports promptly and take appropriate action.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Fair Use Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of SignFree after changes means you accept the updated policy.
